Write a useful rug brief for your designer

Include room dimensions, furniture footprints, preferred colours and the activities the space must support. Add photographs of the real room rather than only inspiration images. State which existing pieces will remain. A clear brief gives the designer practical boundaries and reduces the chance of selecting a beautiful rug that cannot work in the layout.
